Happy Thanksgiving

Well this year I have much to be thankful for.  First and foremost a daughter that completely amazes me every single day.  I am so blessed to be her mom.

I am also thankful for my family who has been there for me through all the ups and downs of this past year.  I have so many people that want to make sure that I am ok - and that means a lot.

I can't wait to eat lots of good food with awesome family. And hope that you do the same.

Here are some Thankful projects that I wanted to share with you. This turkey came about as I was visiting one of my favorite sites to visit.  She has some awesome downloads and just has a fun blog (check it out). She had this pattern up for sale and I knew I had to get it!  It was pretty easy - the hardest part was the veggies (for me anyway). And then Alyson kept on adding things to it.  She wanted tomatoes - hence the red. LOL!  So I made those but refused the peas - could you see me making those!

We found that plate at the 99cent store.  It was originally on one of our plates and I knew that was not such a good idea.  And really it was too heavy.  So this little plastic gem can be droppped as many times as she would like!  And it fits perfectly in her little oven!:)

I also created a garland that is hanging in place of our Halloween one.  I used Dream Streets Sam paper line for this.  Here is the blog post about it and a few tips for making it.

Almost here...

Can you believe it? Thanksgiving already?  I know I can't!  I am already behind on having things ready for tomorrow - not cooking (don't be silly) - but making Alyson's dress and getting some assignments done before the busy weekend!

I do want to share a few layouts with you that I completed and have not yet posted!  yipee!  right?

This first one is for the latest Noel Mignon challenge.  It is a New Moon challenge - SO fun!  Check it out here as well as what the rest of the design team did!

The challenge was to scrap a time of change in your life - good or bad.  Well this year as most my family and friends know has been a tough one personally - and one that was not expected - but one that I am tackling head on (that is the only way I do things) - I wanted to scrap about it - but really not the bad things - I chose to focus on the good - here is that layout - and you can't read the journaling because it is a bit personal. 

Now you can't really see it - but at the bottom I have  some doodlebug glitter paper.  For the *sparkle*

This one I created a couple weeks ago - all about my banana bread!

  

And a Halloween one...

Feels better to get those up here!  And please don't mind the mess here while I tweak the blog a bit - it is getting close to winter:):)

Fresh Veggies

  I know I still have a bunch of photos that need to be posted (for me - not necessairly for you - heee) but I did get to scrap these babies.

And then  here is the layout that I created using the SOLD OUT Mill Street kit.

I used a lot of the October Afternoon line.  It was perfect for these pics.

And just a quick share.  I made this to hang on my daughter's restroom door.  The pattern paper is Adorn it.

  I don't know if you can read it but it says

"The Little Elves Room" hehe - cute right?

And you can't tell too much here - but I sprinkled some "snow" at the bottom of the mittens.  And there are about 3 clear snowflakes that aren't showing up - :)

Make it Merry Blog Party!

  I can't believe it's time for another Blog hop!  I was so glad Georgana asked me to play along again!!  I love to see all the inspiration out there AND to get to be a part of it AND to get to give some goodies away!  Woohoo!  Yup - just be sure to leave a comment at the end of this post to be entered.

I was trying to think of something to make other than a layout or a card (which are more my comfort zone).  So I looked through my stash and found this cute little mini white lunch bag.  And I thought it would be a perfect little cookie bag for all the goodies that I bake during the holidays. These are especially good for school gifts, secretaries, librarians, room moms, you know the people that help out everyday and you just want to show them a little token of thanks? 

  To make these I got a sticker frame that is black and simply turned it over to the sticky side and used tons of my Martha glitter.  That's it - so easy and no drying time - but it looks so festive right?

For the inside of the frame I just used some scrap pattern paper from a previous project I had been working on.  And then mixed and matched some things from my stash to complete it. 

*ohh and I love adding pink into the green and red traditional mix.  Makes it a little more girly and me!

"Seriously Mom?"

  That is what Alyson said to me as she pulled out some of her school papers from the trash - oops!  I told her I have no idea how they got there - but we should take them out right away. Umm...yeah she wasn't quite believing me. hehehe.  To be fair, I keep most artwork and have a Kindergarten bucket that it goes in until i can scan them.  But work sheets??  Nahhhh.  Unless it is a story, etc.  But how many ditto sheets of the letter K do we need to keep?  Obviously all of them if you ask Alyson - LOL!  So now I try to be a little more discreet.  I do it right before I take the trash out. If I really kept them all we could have our own little forest in this house.

  So looking back on my posts I realize there have been lots of pictures but not too much scrapping. So I thought I would share this page that I completed right before I got sick.  It is from Alyson's 5th birthday.  I used the yummy Bella Blvd. line and had fun just scrapping to scrap.

TYou can't really see but there is a lot of sewing that I did on here.  And it is really not as green as it appears here -- hehe!

And some past My Little Shoebox assignments. 

A fun playset that Alyson and Lily got to play in. 

I did a lot of stitching on this layout.  You can see it better in the close ups.

Oh and this picture - Love it.  Where could you be that excited?  Why Target of course - LOL!

I also used lots of shimmerz and blingz for the blooms.

And miss Alyson's cake.  She loves baking just as much as me - and she loves the process more than the actual product.  But lookie at that masterpiece!

So I went back to work

  In case you didn't know - I have been home sick since Tuesday.  And I am better, but still not 100%.  I haven't felt that bad in a long time.  It sucks when your 5 year old wants to check your temperature and make sure that you are ok.  My mom was gracious enough to come over more than once last week and just help me.  She helped me by taking care of Alyson, cleaning and cooking.  I very much appreciate that she could come (thanks mom!).

  On Tuesday I had actually started a blog post but sadly never finished it.  I do still have the photos I was going to blog! Yay!  They are our Halloween Party photos. I just want them here documented.

  We had this party for Alyson.  She loved when we had one last year.  So this year I told her we could invite more people - so we invited my friend Monica (hehe)!  I know not that many more - but think of it - I'm really smart - it will take Years before I have to invite everyone!  Basically we get together, decorate cookies, sometimes carve pumpkins, but just have family fun.

As you can see she got ready right away.  Here she is mixing the brownies...mmm....

Here is the Halloween couple - LOL!  They are so cute.  Alyson LOVES Daniel.  But she gets jealous if I am around him too much, talk about him too much, or even put too many pics of him up! LOL!  Ya think she's an only child?

Mike and Monica were there.  Mike just made me promise no Spiderman pics on the blog (yes he was spiderman).  And I just didn't get a good group shot of Monica and I (with the kids) but I think she did!
