A few more...

Well I really can't believe that it is August already!? Ack!? That means a little closer to going back to work - boo!

I have been creating non-stop lately which is fun but sometimes tiring - only because I stay up till the wee hours -- so really all my fault! LOL!

I am still awaiting my Breaking Dawn book - boo - I am so tempted to go and get it from the store - but I don't think Mike would be very happy.

Ok - well here are some layouts that I made with the yummy August kit from Simply Obsessed!

SObeautiful

I was lucky to get this shot of Alyson and I - we took it right before running out the door. For the title I used Doodlebug flock - and I LOVE that stuff! It was much easier than I thought it would be. And it looks so nice in real life - I don't think you can really get the true feel through a picture.

Products Used:Carstock:Bazzill, Pattern Paper: My Mind's Eye, Alpha Stickers and flock: Doodlebug

SOCottonCandy

Ohh and Cotton candy yumm! I did use selective color on the cotton candy for this. And lots of flock which goes with the whole "fluff" feel.

Products Used: Cardstock: Bazzill; Pattern Paper: My Mind's Eye, Alphas&Flock: Doodlebug; Cats Eye Ink

SOmichellefriendsmini1

Monica this is for you - Happy Birthday!

SOmichellefriendsmini2

SOmichellefriendsmini3 It is a little minibook that has all kinds of saying about Monica and I!

SOmichellefriendsmini4

Gosh I promise you that our teeth do not look that white in the real pic - hehe! reminds me of Chandler on Friends -- hehe!

Really the kit is full of great paper that you should not pass up!! Get it here.

And here is one that I did for a challenge I am hosting over at Treasured Scrapbooking

TSWhooTookthosepictures

My challenge is Stamping. Here I stamped the title and the little camera.

These pictures were taken by Alyson using the remote.I LOVE the way they came out and HAD to scrap them (you know how it is). LOL!

Here is the challenge link. I would love to see you over there!

And lets see - that is it for now - some more new stuff tomorrow! I did learn something new yesterday. Did you know that kittens lose their baby teeth?? Me either! Alyson found what looked like a tooth and brought it to me - well we looked in her mouth and their were no "holes" but one of her gums looked a little red. So of course I googled it and yep they do lose their teeth - you just probably don't ever find them -- hehe a little information for ya there!

So until tomorrow...

As promised...

Finally getting my butt on here to post my other DT reveals (well some - the rest will come next week).  But before I say more - I just wanted to THANK YOU ALL for the kind things you said about the kit and my work - it means a lot!  Didn't realize that mini was going to be a hit!  I will actually be doing a little tutorial over at the Freckle Friends blog - so I will let you know when!  Thanks again!!

Ok, now...This week Treasred Scrapbooking revealed their 2 August kits -- I got kit#1 which you can see here:

It has yummy Heather Bailey paper and embellishments -- they are just some beautiful colors!  So far I have created 2 layouts and 1 sketch so far(not done with the kit yet) and here they are:

These pictures that I just took of Alyson went perfectly with the paper -- yumm.  Oh and you all probably think that I made her pose with those flowers huh?  Nope - all on her own - it was the only way she would sit!  And the shoot lasted a good 15 minutes - LOL - that is it!  So I am shooting like crazy!

TS-FourYearsOld TS-FourYearsOldCU

And here is the sketch which you can get right from here or from the sketch link on the left.

TSsketch(4yo)

And another layout...

TSTheAfterParty

The kit came with some making memories paper that I love -- and I just decided to cut it into strips and circles -- went a little crazy - and if you look closely you will see the clear Heidi Swapp embellies and stickles!

The photo was done in photoshop and I just printed it our and slapped it on the paper!

And tonight I will be working on more with this kit!

************************************************************************************************************************

And today we just kinda "chilled out" as Alyson now says and I finally scrapped a page for an upcoming challenge during the Simply Obsessed crop next weekend - so be on the lookout for that -- you all have to come!

Since I can't quite share that yet - I can share some cards that I worked on last night and today - one of them is from left over scraps from the layout I completed - you will have to guess which one...

I have not made that many cards in a LONG time...might make some more!

Some reveals

Well I have been working non-stop in the scrapbooking area -- staying up late nights to complete some assignments.  But it has all been so fun and inspiring!  First, Susan and Debbie asked me to design a kit for the Freckle Friends kit club -- hello how awesome is that? I had such a hard time -- really - if it were up to me all my kits would be like 50+ because how can you not want to put everything in there --LOL -- but then I couldn't even afford it -- LOL!  But with Susan's help I put it together and this is what it looks like:Augustcollectionfull

Lot's of the Making Memories, 7 gypsies, TONS of journaling spots, a stamp, a mini book - just jam packed I tell ya!

FFAdayatthebeach1

Here is a minibook I made - that I had so much fun with -- and I was especially proud of my little PCH (pacific Coast Highway) chipboard embellie -- and when I showed the album to DH he said: "PCH is highway 1" - grrrrrr....ah well it looks better with 101(which is the Hollywood freeway) - LOL!

FFAdayatthebeach2

I made all the pictures pretty much fill up the page and added accents from the kit.

FFAdayatthebeach3

FFAdayatthebeach4 This one I used the whole pic for the 2 pages

A long night...

LOTS of DEADLINES and I am staying up late with tons of coffee!  I have plenty of movies to watch and I am ready to scrap (some more).  Hehe!

We have had appointments here, lessons there - just always on the go!  Today Alyson had her 4 year appointment and 4 shots - ouch!!  She is doing great -- is in the 50% percentile for height and 10% for weight - she weighs a whopping 32 pounds!  hehe!  But all is good!  She was a little loopy this evening - her legs were hurting and then she felt "burning" but I think she was a little achy from the shot so she took her tylenol (and earned a happy face for that - that is a BIG step for her) and felt much better!

The happy and sad faces are doing great for her -- today was ALL happy! Yipee --- I know not everyday will be like that - but I do enjoy them!!  She is thinking about her actions a little more now!

She also started swimming lessons!  Yipee!!  I wasn't sure if she would actually do it - because although she LOVES to go swimming - she hates water getting in her eyes (yes washing her hair is FUN - although Mike has the magic touch with that).  But she surprised me by going on in with her swim instructor and hanging on the side when she was waiting -- although there I was trying to take pictures - AND getting ready to jump in the pool incase she needed me! (even though there were tons of lifeguards around).  Here are a couple I got....

Blogswim2

Now that I know the lighting - hopefully I will do better -- and not run from the splashes so much - hehe!

Blogswim

She did wind up taking in a bit of water at the very end when she thought she could swim to her instructor when she wasn't looking!  She was screaming -- and when she calmed down she was just mad that water went up her nose! LOL!  She wanted to go back in - but alas the lesson was over!

There was a free bbq going on so we had us some yummy hot dogs and cheeseburgers!  Hope she doesn't expect that next time - LOL!

Ok -- hmmm let's see --I have a couple sneaks before I finsh some late night scrappin'

FFAdayatthebeach1CU

This one is from the August Freckle Friends kit --- mmmm

Look at those colors --- Simply Obsessed here...

TS-FourYearsOldCU

Oh and you will LOVE this one...over at Treasured Scrapbooking!

Ok enough of that - I must get scrappin'!  Before I forget - I have had some requests about how I process my photos - would anyone be up for a little tutorial?  If not NO biggie - I will just do it through e-mail --- and I by NO means am that good at it - LOL -- but I know I love to see what others do so I can help my Post processing improve! Let me know either by e-mail or leave a comment!!

Ok goodnight! Or is it good morning?

Sunday

whew - sorry it has taken me so long to post -- a busy house around here.   We have been going places and working on a new behavior chart with Alyson.  She has been testing every limit with us lately -- so I found a new chart -here and so far it is doing it's job!  She has had good and bad days - but it looks like she is going to earn a reward for her hard work.  But boy is it tiring!

Other than that -- we have been minature golfing...

Golfblog

which we stayed at for a bit - but had to stop midway because of a nice little tantrum!!

Needless to say - no happy face that trip!

We took these pictures before we went minature golfing.  I have MANY more - but a couple of shots to share for now!  These are her 4 year pics.

4yrblog 4yr2

Then on Saturday we went to the batting cages!  FUN!!  Alyson has been with Mike -- but I have not been since Mike and I were teenagers -- I hit pretty darn good!! Hehe!!  Here is Alyson...

Cagesblog

Mike bought her her own PINK helmet.  She loves it!  Even wanted to wear it on the ride over - LOL!

And today we went to the park (no camera) and having some yummy food --- so you see busy and I have not even had time to scrap!!

There has been a crop going on all weekend over at Treasured Scrapbooking that I have been popping in at ---- it is so fun over there!!

Here is the layout I created for my challenge at the crop...

TSMakingwaves I had such a hard time using my October Afternoon - every scrap was saved - hehe -- but it just went perfectly with this layout!

And my new chipboard letters from Target Doallr spot - score!!

Ohh and a cool challenge that Noel just put up -you have to take a lookisehere.

Watch the video and make a layout on your interpretation of the video -- this is mine (and there is not right or wrong answer --- just take a peek at what the DT did!

NMLiveinthemoment

Hmm let's see --- working on quite a few things - and will have a couple more sketches for you soon!

Oh of course --- Simply Obsessed is having their one year Anniversary crop!  It will be a blast!  Make sure to come on over an join us...

Tuesday...it's a LONG one!

Well as my story goes -- I started a post yesterday -- actaually Sunday evening and nothing -- hehe.  That's ok -- I'm here today!  I have been in non-stop purge mode -- purging all of the excess scrap goodies that I no longer use!  I have a nice bag full of stuff to give/sell - but that will have to wait - maybe at the next lss yard sale?  Dunno...Anyways -- I gathered ALL of my layouts that are not in albums and here they are....

12inches I actually think it is a bit more than 12 inches - but I didn't take the ruler out and I am just guestimating.  I am waiting for some American Crafts Albums that I got a great deal on to come in -- so those babies will be put away someday -- it's not like the albums have anywhere to go anyways (I need more space!) - LOL!

Desk

and here is something that has been placed in a better area -- now I have better access to all my little things.  Let's see how long it stays that way! :D

And I had a couple questions about how I store my mini books - and I do have a few -- I bought this jar from Target - it is huge (I need another) - bought it maybe 2 years ago.  And they all go in there - and truthfully I am not too worried if they get a little "worn" - that is what makes them even better!  It is in our bedroom right now, but eventually when we move it will be in the family room for everyone to look through. (I probably should've dusted it before the picture - hehe - it is clean now)

IMG_5485

And besides purging and trying to "wish" the mess away - Alyson and I have been "studying."  We started last week and didn't continue until today (yesterday was a BAD day for her).  Mike and I were noticing that she just "needs" a little more stimulation that is not t.v., reading, or playing with her toys.  So that is where he said "go for it teacher" -- ahhh!!  Things are so much more different when it is for your child.  So I looked into some online homeschool resources to see if I liked anything they had to offer.  I did find a few -- but when it came to planning it our I knew that planning it on my own would be better.  So that is what I did -- she knows quite a few things already - but has shown a great interest in knowing what the words say -- so on to pre-reading for us.

We are starting by reviewing the alphabet sounds, and recognizing the uppercase and lowercase.  Here is what her little pocket chart looks like (I actually bought it for my classroom but it is working perfect for her - and I got it in the dollar section at T).

Pocketchart

She is doing pretty well with her fine motor skills - able to stay within the lines and such.  We did "school" today for 45 minutes -- seriously -- I know little ones have short attention spans but she was just sucking it up.  Anyways that is what we do to end our lesson with the letter B.  Write it, draw a picture, and find 2 others.

And because she wanted more to do we worked on math. A while ago Mike bought her some addition flash cards (and just incase you are thinking we push her - we don't if anything I tend to hold back because I don't want her to be bored when she gets to school - Mike wants her to be the smartest girl ever(doesn't every parent) - so he sat with her one evening and told her what the sign was and what it means.  So I saw that she was really "into" (she also has 1:1 recognition) it and I decided to make some pasta counters - but plain ones wouldn't do - I had to dye them - and here are the pictures.

Pastamath It is a fun activity to do together -- I had her do everything she counted out 20 pieces per baggie as well as how many drops.  It was really fun and easy -- so that is what she uses during "math time" to figure out the addition problems - she loves it. (

Well if you are still with me -- hehe -- I DO have some scrappy things to share!  Remember my sneaks from the other day?

Well here are the entire layouts -- and I am still not quite done with the kit!

First, here is the kit;

Copy_of_main-1 It is called Memory Lane and you can buy it here.

NMGoingonanaturewalk

This one is called "Going on a Nature Walk"

Products: Cardstock: Bazzill; Pattern Paper: American Crafts; Calendar; Jenni Bowlin; Lace: Prima;

NMTheFarmersMarket

Ahh and this one - these 2 pics finally found a "home" - she was so little.  I loved them in color but when I made the BW to "see" that was it -- and then of course I did some selective coloring for the apple.  And that s.e.i. paper is one of my favorites!  You can't see it but the floers have a pearl sheen to them - so pretty - just couldn't cut it up!

NMme@31

And I have not done a page of myself in a while so when I saw the little dress form - I was at it.  Love the colors.

NMdelightinthe4th

And my 4th of July layout -- I love this one - mainly because I got so many pictures on here -- here they are....

NMdelightinthe4thCU3

All those little ties at the top (held together with a binder clip) pull out to show the rest of the 4th pictures.  I just placed them on the little Hambly cut outs.  And on the back I used scraps from the ledger paper and wrote what each picture was/what we were doing.

NMdelightinthe4thCU And if you made it through ALL that - thank you - much appreciated!! :D  Thanks for stopping in - say hi - (I know you are there-the 200 hits tells me so!!;D)

Have a wonderful evening!!

The Weekend is here!

I love summers because for me everyday seems like the weekend -- and that is awesome!  We had a really busy week with Alyson's birthday and going to the Orange County Fair - and then working on some projects that are coming up and some just for fun!

First I want to share with you a mini album I made -- and that I made it and finished it within a few days is AWESOME for me --- I sometimes lose my excitement over a project and have a touch time finishing but not this one.  I bought a Bo Bunny word books that said Party - and this is how it came out (oh and this is a mini book for Alyson's 4th birthday;))

MakeaWish1 I found this CUTE party paper by Imaginisce called All Kinds of Happy.  I bought 2 of each sheet and it was the perfect amount - Each side was super cute.

Makeawish2

This is just a close up of all the yummy ribbon I used -- even have some pom-pom ribbon on there!

Oh and I didn't make these too small so you should be able to click on these to make them bigger.

Makeawish3

I made all the photos Black and white so they would have a more cohesive look.

Makeawish4

And sorry for the wierd coloring - just not the best lighting.  Here are some pictures of her on the slides and playing air hockey.

Makeawish5

And some more sliding and some group pictures.  That one of us 3 making the silly faces - yes the one where Mike is smiling I zoomed in because I really liked it and the only one of us 3!

Makeawish6

And the best part opening the presents, eating pizza, and singing happy birthday!

Makeawish7

And her is the only color photo -- and the last page.  Well actually I trimmed the very last page it comes with (for display) and made a pocket for all the cards she received.

That is all -- I am really happy with the way it turned out -- and since the pictures are small and in black and white - I will probably scrap them in the future -- hehe!

Ok onto a sneak peek!  A while ago I was asked by Susan at Freckle Friends to create a kit for the store...I know pretty awesome huh?  I had such a fabulous time being a part of their Design Team and they were both (Susan & Debbie) are awesome to work with -- so accomodating and just fun!  Well anyways - I finally got my kit and already started playing with it!  It will not be availible until August -- but here is a peek at "parts" and you will love it -- awesomely fun and perfect for the end of summer!

FFCU

FFCU2

I will be sure to let you in on a few more sneaks -- this kit is packed with goodies!

Well I think that is all for today!  I do have some fair and beach pictures that I want to share -- so I will do that in the next day or so --- so until then ---- Have a Wonderful Weekend!
